Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) has embarked on recruiting members and preparing aspirants for the 2027 General Elections. In Nyeri county, the party has organised a second meeting this Saturday where those who hope to contest for Governor, Senate, Woman Representative, Members of Parliament and Members of County Assembly will have a consultative meeting. According to party County coordinator Wanyaga Gathaka, they will meet at Senior Chief Wambugu Palace, near Nyeri town and along Nyeri-Karatina highway. The main agenda will be recruitment of party members and putting in place a team that will be coordinating the party activities. Gathaka said the team will strive to recruit the highest number of the new party members before its launching date on June 4. The first meeting was held last Friday at the same venue.
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale yesterday attended the Coordination Meeting of Health Ministers of the 47 Member states WHO African Region at UN Offices in Geneva, convened by Dr. Louise Mapleh Kpoto, the Minister of Health for Liberia, and Chair of the WHO Regional Committee for Africa. The meeting established a unified African position for the 78th World Health Assembly. This position addressed several key areas, including health emergency preparedness and response, WHO governance reforms, the proposed Program Budget for 2026–2027 and matters considered by the 156th WHO Executive Board. Also present at the meeting were Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, the acting WHO Regional Director for Africa, Dr. Mohammed Yakub Janabi, the newly elected WHO Regional Director, Amb. Fancy Too, Permanent Representative of Kenya to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Dr. Patrick Amoth Director General Health.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has initiated a thorough investigation into a violent incident that occured yesterday during which Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers were unlawfully obstructed while carrying out their official duties in Trans Nzoia County. The EACC officers were acting on duly obtained search warrants to investigate allegations of irregular procurement and fictitious payments amounting to KSh 1.4 billion by the Trans Nzoia County Government that occurred during the financial years 2022/2023 and 2024/2025. The searches targeted the residence and office of Governor George Natembeya, along with four other individuals implicated in the case.
