Nyeri County Assembly Majority Leader James Kanyugo moving the motion of approval

The County Assembly of Nyeri has approved the Nomination of Dr. Joseph Kiragu as CEC Nominee for Health Services, Eng. Abdi Hussein for Transport, Public Works and Infrastructure and Peter Ngatia , the Nominee for Public Service and Public Administration.
While moving the motion for adoption of the report, the Majority Leader and Mahiga Ward MCA James Kanyugo informed the House that the three nominees appeared before the Appointments Committee and were vetted in accordance with the Public Appointments (County Assemblies Approval) Act.
He also noted that the committee examined the overall suitability based on their academic qualifications, work and professional experience, employment record, integrity, vision and leadership.
Additionally, the approval hearings aimed at gauging the nominee’s knowledge of the relevant subject, key priorities among others.
In supporting the motion, the members observed that the nominees possessed the requisite abilities, qualifications and professional experience required for appointment to the Office of the County Executive Committee adding that they must utilize the skills to provide timely and quality services to the Nyeri citizenry.
In a sitting chaired by the Speaker James Gichuhi, the members emphasized the need for all the County Executive Committee Members (CECs) in various dockets to serve with excellence and expedite the projects geared towards improving the livelihoods of Nyeri residents.
The trio are now expected to resume office soon after being sworn in.
