President Ruto Leads Military In Marking 2025 Kenya Defence Forces Day

President William Ruto yesterday led the country’s Military formation in marking this year’s Kenya Defence Forces day.

The President who is the Commander In Chief of the Defence Forces emerged for the fete in style: donning Military fatigue for the first time since he took the position in 2022.

“Today, we honour our gallant men and women in uniform whose enduring courage and steadfast devotion to duty have safeguarded our sovereignty,” he said, adding, “We recognise the immense sacrifices made by our brave soldiers, both present and past, often operating in punishing terrains far away from home to uphold the security and stability of our great nation.”

The Head of State observed that the country’s soldiers, “are the shield and sword of our Republic; they carry the hopes of generations, the pride of our people, and the dignity of our flag.”

He called upon Kenyans to stand firmly behind the Kenya Defence Forces by according them the respect and gratitude they so richly deserve.

“As President and Commander-in-Chief, I am not only proud of what they have achieved defending our borders, but also celebrate them as exemplary agents of national unity and development.”

The colourful event took place at Moi Barracks Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.
