Siaya county woman representative aspirant Dr. Elizabeth Anyango is scheduled to open a third and fourth art center in a bid to address the job crisis in the county.
Speaking to The Nyanza Review virtually from the United Kingdom, the philanthropist politician said that her plans is to help the countyzens of Siaya especially the youths who are economically incapacitated due to lack of jobs.
“The greatest challenge we’re experiencing currently is joblessness and it’s a global issue. My aim is to address this in my mother – county by every possible means.” Odaga said
The hopeful woman representative said that her foundation will be opening a third art center in Alego Usonga sub county and a fourth one in Bondo sub county as they work on reaching the two remaining sub counties by February next year.
Elizabeth in her earlier virtual address to her grassroot mobilizers on Friday 15, 2024 explained that the art center in Alego Usonga will train youths on motor mechanics and welding while that in Bondo sub county will major on computer studies, tailoring and welding. The two are scheduled to be opened next month.
From Bondo, the foundation will head to Ugenya in January next year to open the fifth art center which will train youths on driving, tailoring, computer and welding.
In February next year, the sixth and the final art center will be opened in Ugunja where youths will be trained on plumbing, tailoring, welding and hairdressing.
The idea of an art center was first birthed in Akala, Gem Sub County in August this year with focus on welding, beauty therapy and tailoring. The center is currently training over 100 youths drawn from all the wards in Gem.
Rarieda Sub County was the second beneficiary with establishment of an art center in Kalandini where training on computer studies, welding and beauty therapy is currently ongoing.
