Tharaka Nithi Governor Welcomes County Residents And Neighbours For a Free Medical Camp
Chuka County Referral Hospital in Tharaka Nithi County. America doctors in collaboration with Tharaka-Nithi County government are having a free specialist medical camp at the facility.

Governor Muthomi Njuki has invited Tharaka Nithi residents and those from neighbouring counties to a free medical camp that is taking place at the Chuka Level 5 Referral Hospital.
The free medical camp was officially opened yesterday will run up to Friday.
The 5-day exercise is organised by Doctors from America in partnership with the County Government of Tharaka Nithi through the Department of Public Health and Medical Services, where the Governor has urged members of the public to use the opportunity to access free medical assistance.
“I take this opportunity to invite residents of Tharaka Nithi including our neighbours from other counties to the free medical camp at the Chuka Level 5 hospital where we have visiting specialists from different medical fields in partnership with the County Government of Tharaka Nithi. The treatments will be free of charge and therefore I urge people to come in large numbers and take advantage of the availability of such personnel,” he said.
According to Governor Njuki, the Chuka Level 5 Referral Hospital was picked as a host due to the availability of state of the art medical equipment in the facility.
Among the services offered during the free medical camp include treatment for diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, kidney diseases and other general medical services.
In addition, the doctors are performing surgeries such as appendectomy, laparotomy, hydrocele and hypothyroidism.
During the camp, the specialists will also be involved in re-construcntive and paediatric surgeries that include cleft palate, undescended testis and congenital conditions of the intestines.
“Parents with children who have untreated or pending medical issues are urged to bring their children for specialized care through surgeries and medical procedures”, the Governor emphasized.
General paediatric cases like prematurity, infections of newborns, neonatal jaundice, and other paediatric conditions are also scheduled to be addressed by the specialists along with gynaecological cases that include caesarean sections and surgeries of the women’s reproductive system, such as hysterectomy.
