Wambura Maranga to challenge Rigathi in Mathira on Jubilee
Businesswoman Wambura Maranga yesterday officially joined Jubilee party which she will use to contest the Mathira parliamentary seat.
Ms Maranga who came second during the 2017 General Election as an Independent candidate was welcomed into the party by its Secretary General and Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni, party’s Director of Election and Kieni MP Kanini Kega alongside other leaders.
She was accompanied by a delegation of Jubilee supporters from Mathira.
Ms Maranga is considered a strong challenger of the incumbent and UDA proponent in Mt Kenya region Rigathi Gachagua.
Also welcomed in the party was former Tetu MP Ndung’u Gethinji who is expected to contest the seat he lost in 2017 to Gichuhi Mwangi who will be defending it via UDA ticket.
At the same time, the politician who became second during the last General Election Lutherking Githiogoro joined Jubilee, just a few days after being welcomed in The Service Party (TPS) by its leader Mwangi Kiunjuri.
