The First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto joined the Kenya Girl Guides community at Moi Complex Primary School to Celebrate World Thinking Day 2025.
This date marks the shared birthday of Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of the Boy Scout Movement, and his wife, Lady Olave Baden-Powell, the World Chief Guide. Millions of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts worldwide reflect on our shared values, celebrate our international sisterhood, and amplify the voices of young women everywhere.
The First Lady urged Kenya Girl Guides and all stakeholders to unite in the push to ensure that every girl has the right to quality education.
One key barrier to education is hunger, which affects school enrollment and retention. A strategy to achieve the Government’s target of 100 per cent enrollment and retention is ensuring Kenya meets the targeted Universal School Feeding Goal of 10 million children accessing school meals by 2030.
Other leaders present included Ann Wang’ombe, Principal Secretary, State Department for Gender and Affirmative Action, Duncan Mathenge, Member of Parliament, Nyeri Town Constituency and the Kenya Girl Guides Association leadership.
