Despite a convoy attack in Migori, the Ukombozi Alliance leader vows to press on to Homa Bay as the 2027 campaign intensifies

Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka pressed ahead with his two-day Ukombozi Alliance tour of Nyanza yesterday, addressing crowds in Sori, Migori County, hours after his convoy was attacked by stone-throwing youths and police deployed teargas in Migori town.
The assault occurred as Kalonzo, Democratic Party leader Justin Muturi and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa held a public meeting in Migori town, with unidentified assailants shattering vehicle windows before police intervened. Rather than withdraw, Kalonzo proceeded to Sori, where he was received with what his team described as an overwhelming welcome.
“Your energy and determination to see a better Kenya give us even greater strength to continue this journey of liberating our nation and restoring hope,” he told residents. “Stones and teargas could not stop us. That is the predator regime’s answer to peaceful assembly — violence and intimidation. No amount of intimidation will keep us from our people.”
In Sori, Kalonzo also invoked the late Prime Minister Raila Odinga, crediting him as the father of devolution and urging residents to continue the struggle for his ideals. He confirmed the Homa Bay rally would proceed today as scheduled.
A movement that stones cannot silence is one worth watching.
