Wanjohi. P. Mugambi
As it rose it descended in the west
Not with the brightness of the morning star
This evening star didn’t shine any longer
And the birds didn’t sing as they did in the east
And silence prolonged
Giving the moon some time
To smile just for a time
People bid each other bye
And the Shepherd took back his flock
home
To be sure the lambs were safe in a good place
Not to give way for the beast
And disturb while sitting and sleeping in each bosom
The night did lie
That the wolves could not get a prey
But they drove everyone crazy
And everyone got to they trap
The night
Its bright yet full of dark
For the wolves celebrated
On there imortal day
And made other’s dreams shutter
And that is the night
