Mbeere North Member of Parliament Geoffrey Kariuki Kiringa Ruku has promised reliable water to his constituents. He noted:
“The dream of every resident of Mbeere North is to have access to uninterrupted clean and hygienic water throughout the year. And I intend to ensure these dreams come true.
Therefore, today I followed up with the Tana Water
Works Development Agency (TWWDA) on the status of government development plans of Kamumu Dam, Ena-Siakago and Thuci water projects in Mbeere North.

TWWDA CEO Eng. Philip Gichuki and his team have informed us that the government is speedily fastracking the construction of Kamumu Dam. The agency has also set aside 40M for rehabilitation of Ena-Siakago project, and 10M plus 20M from NDMA for Muminji water project. BQs will be ready in a week’s time to fast-track the procurement process.
We will together be pursuing more partners to build Kamumu Dam, including our ongoing advanced negotiations with an Israeli company through the Israeli Embassy.
We will further be pursuing deeper partnership especially in a long-term 700M project in the area and in building the capacity of EMBEWASCO to provide better and more effective water services.
I was accompanied by Hon. Kariuki Mate, Waziri J.M. Kithumbu, MD. EMBEWASCO Mr. Mutuku, and EMBEWASCO Board Chair Mr. Ireri
