“Whoever controls the media, controls the mind,” Jim Marrison. The difference in polls in the big media stations in Kenya has left many citizens with the question, which one should we trust? This has led to confusion and has divided many Kenyans with each resorting to the channel that has their preferred candidate winning. Many citizens have therefore formed their own perception regarding different stations some even saying that they are favouring a particular political party. We all are aware it is the work of media to remain relevant especially during the elections.
Yesterday’s polls showed Raila leading at Citizen Tv with 2, 867,160 votes while Ruto at NTV was also leading with 4, 150, 971 vis-a-vi today’s polls. Leaving many in confusion wondering which station to believe.
Therefore the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission should be publicizing its results to ease the tension among Kenyans. It is the body in charge of Elections and many people trust and believe in it. Hence this will ease tension among the citizens. Media stations should also unite and cover the elections just as they did the debate this will stop the confusion and unite Kenyans.
Let us unite our country and make it a peaceful nation irregardless of our tribe. We all are eager to know our future leaders. Is it the Azimio Party? Is it Kenya Kwanza? AGANO? Is it the Roots Party?
