Kirinyaga County Jubilee party gubernatorial candidate Charles Kibiru has vowed to ensure his administration strictly follow the rule of law in all its undertakings.
Senator Kibiru will ensure that in all available appointments, the not more than two thirds of either gender rule is followed to the letter.
This, he says will caution women and youth from discriminative practices that have become the norm in most of County and national governments appointments.
“Women and women leadership have come out in a big way to support my Gubernatorial candidacy. The two third gender rule as enshrined in the constitution will be strictly adhered to in all aspects of my administration,” Senator Kibiru said yesterday after meeting various groups from the county.
Kibiru who will be deputised by Peter Ndambiri has also promised to establish numerous cottage industries within the county which will assist in value adding different farm produce and in turn increase the farmers’ proceeds.
He is battling it with among others, the incumbent Ann Waiguru who is defending her seat on United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket, former governor Joseph Ndathi who is trying to recapture the seat on The Service Party (TSP) ticket and former Mwea MP Peter Gitau.
