Nyeri County leaders yesterday told Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to maintain his stand that Presideny should not accept any form of handshake with Azimio leader Raila Odinga.
The leaders said accepting the handshake will be tantamount to accepting them to fail Kenyans.
They said the opposition leader was a bad omen to the country as nothing prospered under his association.

At the same time, the leaders faulted the Azimio leadership for leading demonstrations saying they were only doing harm to the country than good.
They said since the country was experiencing economic hardship, Kenyans should refrain from joining such demonstrations and instead concentrate on nation building.
The Deputy President said the bad state of the economy was as a result of the handshake that was witnessed between the former Head of State, Uhuru Kenyatta and Odinga.
He said, as result, the country was unable to meet some of its obligations which have led to stagnation of some issues.
At the same time, the DP announced that a major consultative meeting to discuss Drugs and Substance abuse in the region will be held this Friday.
The meeting will be attended by among others, all Members of Parliament from Kiambu, Murang’a, Nyeri, Kirinyaga and Nyandarua.
“Mt Kenya Region, in particular the former Central Province, has borne the brunt of illicit brew and substance abuse. The situation is so dire that we are staring at losing an entire generation to this menace,” the DP told the congregation.
He added, “If we do not act now, an entire generation faces the risk of being wiped out in the next 10 years. President William Samoei Ruto is equally concerned with this disturbing and sad situation; he has instructed me to take remedial action and brief him on how we, as leaders, intend to address it, because, we have to take action now”.
He concluded, “It will be a defining moment whose outcome will have far-reaching implications to save our youth.”
