Nyeri County Government Senior Officials To Undergo Sensitization Training

All the senior government officials in the Nyeri County government have started a sensitization workshop would aim is to enhance their efficiency.
The programme is targeting the County Executive Committee Members (CECM) and the Departmental accounting officers, Chief Officers.
Governor Mutahi Kahiga yesterday officially opened the three day training where he urged the participants to take their assignments seriously for the benefit of the local community.
The governor who was accompanied by his deputy David Kinaniri, revealed that the training is being organized by the Department of Finance and Economic Planning.
It will be covering areas on Financial Operation, Planning, Budgeting, Auditing and Procurement.
“The objective of the training is to build the capacity of the CECMs and Accounting Officers in order to improve on efficiency service delivery and also in order to avoid unnecessary audit issues,” he observed.
During the intense training sessions, the officers are expected to cover among other areas; Understanding County Economic Planning, Understanding budgeting, sources and allocation of resources and Understanding procurement processes including e-Procurement.
Other areas they will be sensitised on is understanding payment processes and accounting documents as well as the importance of record keeping and stores management including fuel registers.
“This will ensure transparency and accountability of financial resources while serving Nyeri citizenry,” the governor noted.
Governor Kahiga completed constituting his government a few weeks ago when the last batch of CECM and Chief Officers joined his administration.
