My name is Lucy Muriuki a gospel artist, songwriter, and a Realtor at Optiven real estate.
What inspired you to become a gospel artist, and what is your mission with your music?
My Music is inspired by true life events that I have gone through and found my comfort and solace in the Lord. I use my music as a preaching tool to reach a huge audience in preaching the gospel.
How do you approach the creative process of writing and recording gospel music?
As a gospel artist, I approach the creative process of writing and recording music by seeking inspiration and guidance from my faith and personal experiences, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide my lyrics and melodies. I aim to capture the essence of God’s love and message of hope in my music, infusing it with authenticity and passion to touch the hearts of listeners.
How do you balance your time between your music career and your real estate business?
Balancing my music career and real estate business requires effective time management and prioritization. I establish clear schedules and allocate dedicated blocks of time for both endeavors, ensuring that I give each the attention and focus they deserve while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I am thankful for my supportive organization, Optiven.
How has your background in music influenced your approach to real estate?
My music has had a positive impact on my career since it has brought about a massive following on my social media pages hence great advertisements on my handles.
How do you use your platform as a musician to make a positive impact in your community?
I strive to incorporate uplifting and inspiring messages into my music, aiming to spread love, unity, and messages of hope that resonates with and uplift my community.
In what ways do you think your skills as a real estate agent have helped you succeed in the music industry?
As a gospel artist, my skills as a real estate agent have provided me with a solid foundation in business management, negotiation, and networking. These skills have helped me navigate the music industry, whether it’s negotiating contracts, building professional relationships, or managing the business aspects of my music career, ultimately contributing to my overall success as an artist.
Can you share any memorable experiences from your music career?
My memorable moment was when we got invited to State House by the former president and when I got my first airplay at Kameme radio
How do you stay motivated and focused on your goals in both your music and real estate pursuits?
If you are passionate about anything it’s easy to stay focused. To stay motivated and focused on my goals in both music and real estate, I constantly remind myself of the passion and purpose that drive me in each field. I set specific, measurable objectives, break them down into smaller tasks, and maintain a disciplined approach, celebrating milestones along the way to stay motivated and focused on achieving success in both pursuits.
Do you have any upcoming projects or events in your music career that you’d like to share?
Yes, I have five audios that am planning to shoot videos for.
What advice would you give to aspiring gospel artists who are just starting out in their careers?
I would advise any starter up to keep the push and have faith and trust in God for a bright future. My advice to aspiring gospel artists starting out in their careers would be to remain true to their authentic selves and their message, staying grounded in their faith and purpose. Surround yourself with a supportive community, seek mentorship, and consistently hone your craft, never losing sight of the impact your music can have on others.
