By Nyasha Celeste Makombe Thee Poetic Raindrop
They are not humans but shadows of who they used to be
Shadows that hide in the everlasting night
The hunters have become the hunted
Leaving no room for trust and kindness
They are scared scary looking fellows
Who are horrified of who they are
So frightened yet so frightening
Souls roaming around trying to escape their own skin
Their body urges have become too much to bear
They have been dead way too long
Dead souls in living bodies waiting for their final death
Feeding on the pain of others loving the scene of oozing blood
Watching souls department their wishful bodies
That tend to seem like they had a lot to offer this sorrowful tortured bleeding Earth
They are breathing but not alive
Alive yet not living
Wishing and praying for that last one heartbeat
They are shallow yet filled with sorrow
Afraid of what is lurking in the shadows
Holding on to happy thoughts so tightly
Awaiting they’re last breath
