Worth Noting:

  • We have faced a lot of cyber bullying from the general public and have had our looks stereotyped. People would talk about our weight and criticise our music but even through all of this we have been able to push through and come out stronger.
  • Criticism is another stepping stone to your way up. Nicholas Sparks expresses the idea as the emotion that can break your heart is sometimes the very one that heals it. It’s no doubt emotions are what move us towards hitting limits.
  • The views are so amazing and people there are so talented especially the makeup artist that did our make up on that trip, not forgetting the warm welcomes we got from the rest of our fans. The food is something to always think about for it was so tasty and delicious.

“Music touches us emotionally, where words alone can’t,” Johnny Depp had to give account to how important music is in our lives for indeed it connects us with the inner being in each of us. I can freely confess to me, music is life for in every sense of it, there is a story of a warrior fighting within crying out to be heard for what it believes it is capable of doing. Anyways, to cut the long story short though I know we can all testify in different versions to how music has created wonders within and those around us, let’s hear from the South African young and vibrant Q Twins in the world of music.

I was as reading in a few articles and they revealed that you started music in church, how did that inspired you to reach this extent?

Thank you for having us. To answer to the question, indeed we liked singing at church but we thought that wasn’t enough and wanted to be seen by the world at large. It was because of the fire and passion for music that was within us.

Passion! I can echo it goes a long way in creating dreams into reality. Of course, passion is an emotion and in that accord, we can say music without emotions is motionless.

I understand your brand took off just after that idols participation, how has been your musical career since then?

Opportunities always create other opportunities only if they are used to their ultimate effectiveness. Like one of my quote reads, “Opportunities to excel will always knock in front of you only if you give yourself a chance to stand out to recognition,” for sure the Q twins are using the opportunities to the best of their abilities.

Our career after Idols SA has been going very well so far. We have had the chance to work with a lot of well-known artists in South Africa something that we had always envisioned for ourselves.

You have DJ Tira as your manager, a valuable champion in the music industry. Having him as a manager gives what feeling to you?

Humble and magnificent is DJ Tira, of course we can’t mention all that he has done and is still doing for us and the rest of the artists that work with him but in few words we can sum it up as, He is our boss and we love having him for a mentor. It is awesome working with such an influential celebrity in whom we have a lot to learn from about the entertainment industry as a whole.

Being twins it’s a clear indication to the world you appear to have a few things in common. In that regard, apart from music what do you do as twins?

With the much love we have for music, we also have other things that we do together as twins. These include, working out, we are also studying not forgetting that we have our own company, Q Twins Entertainment.

If a person is succeeding there is always some criticism from the other side of your fans. What is it that people talk much about the two of you?

We have faced a lot of cyber bullying from the general public and have had our looks stereotyped. People would talk about our weight and criticise our music but even through all of this we have been able to push through and come out stronger.

Criticism is another stepping stone to your way up. Nicholas Sparks expresses the idea as the emotion that can break your heart is sometimes the very one that heals it. It’s no doubt emotions are what move us towards hitting limits.

You went to Malawi for a performance, what is it that you still remember about Malawi?

The views are so amazing and people there are so talented especially the makeup artist that did our make up on that trip, not forgetting the warm welcomes we got from the rest of our fans. The food is something to always think about for it was so tasty and delicious.

The song Hamba is a hit and it’s still trending. What plans do you have in making more songs like that one?

We are no longer planning of back sliding since we have been improving with each attempt we make. In the same case, we have new projects coming out and we hope that they will have the same impact or more that “Hamba” did when we released it.

You being twins you always have to maintain the very same brand as musicians but we know that later each one of you will have to get married, should we say the brand will still be there?

Yes, the Q Twins brand will always remain intact. No circumstances will be able to break our working relationship. We are able to differentiate between our working and personal lives which is something that has carried us this far.

How do you see music in Africa? Are we there?

We are planning on collaborating with a lot of artists including those from Malawi.

Jasques Barzun proposes that music is intended and designed for sentient beings that have hopes and purposes and emotions. With no doubt, every successful journey comes with challenges but settling for less will not make it any easier, hence finding alternative ways to improve and make it work will do a great deal.

Any plans for this year?

Like they say work hard in silence and let the results speak volumes, such is our strategy for the year. We definitely have a lot of things coming up soon that you will get to know of in no time. As of now, we are currently busy with our EP.

If you two have been given a chance to talk to some youths on any topic, what would it be?

We will talk to the youth about Gender Based Violence which is a very serious issue in Africa because people are not educated enough on GBV. We believe that it is a topic that needs to be spoken about more so people are aware that it takes place even at home and it’s destroying innocent lives.

It was a pleasure having you here. To sum up, any last words for your fans?

Thank you so much. We just want to say keep it cool and don’t stress yourself over things you have no control over.
