President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua

Worth Noting:
- The team mandated to conceive and coin the slogans and come up with the symbol and colours of the party did a fantastic and commendable job.
- Apart from settling on a ‘Wheel Barrow’as a symbol, they unveiled two slogans-The Hustler Nation and Bottom-Up Economic Model.
- The Kenya Kwanza flag bearers, who had already curved a niche of being hands-on, would closely monitor and keep tab on assignment given to each team.
- When the duo disagreed with some of their recommendations, they would not bulldoze their ideas. They would freely engage the members until when they reach a consensus.
It is an understatement to refer President William Ruto and his Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as students of the Kenyan politics and history. The duo was more than this. They were actually the most qualified and experienced teachers of the subject matters.
If this was not the case, you would not have expected the duo to wrestle down the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga at the ballot.
This is because for the first time Raila Odinga enjoyed the support of the outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta and as such the deep state and system was on his side.
How did Ruto and Gachagua managed to deflate thier well-oiled political jaurgurnaut?
They had appointed experts to sit in various think-tanks and mandated them to look into the sectorial issues of the public interests and come up interventions strategies.

The two slogans resonated very well with the masses.
Kenyans believed that Ruto and Gachagua were truly championing their course. They had all the answers to the myriad of challenges facing them.
This is unlike Raila’s Azimio team which was championing the agenda of the dynasties.
To the millions of the ordinary Kenyans, the word dynasty was being interpreted to mean the rich and wealthier Kenyans.
First forward to the latest goings-on in the arena of Kenyan politics.
We have been reading stories in a section of the media that President William Ruto and his deputy were not reading the same script.
I tend to disagree. These stories did not hold any water.
Being birds of the same feathers, the two leaders have not changed.
A good leader is the one who is able to read the mood of the people.
This is what they have been doing. When they are in Mount Kenya region, they speak the language the residents want to hear.
They do the same when in Nyanza, Western or any other part of the country.
Well for members of fourth estate, one can understand why they would love to see the two leaders falling out. It is simply because they were in business.
If it happens, the number of customers buying thier products would increase. So they will make good monies.
Maybe, I need to give the media houses free advice. You are wasting your time by trying to create a rift between them. The working chemistry of the duo remains cordial and intact.
It is worth noting that the media had picked on the comments President Ruto made during the just concluded working tour of Luo Nyanza.
The media reported that he seemed to differ with his deputy over a ‘shareholder’ remark the DP had made earlier.
The President was visiting the stronghold of his arch rival Raila Odinga who was on record hitting out at Gachagua for allegedly uttering those words.
Dr Ruto made the comments where he had been hosted by Siaya Governor James Orengo.
The local leaders had charged the crowd by asking the president to clarify on the matter.
DP Gachagua said Kenya Kwanza government is a limited shareholding. Are we members of this company? Put yourself in the shoes of President. How would you have responded?
As for the Bomas talks, Ruto and Gachagua shared the same sentiments.
The positions of the duo had remained clear. Some of the issues pushed by Azimio were unpalatable.
As for politics of the Mount Kenya region, the position of Gachagua is clear.
The region remains behind President Ruto. Speaking in Meru a few days ago, he noted that as the senior most leaders in the mountain he will ensure that the region would overwhelmingly vote for President Ruto in 2027.
For now, our shareholding in Ruto’s government is 47 percent. I look to forward to increase the support to 60 percent.
The president has made remarkable progress in terms of fulfilling the pledges he made to Kenyans.
So I know this will work out.
Sometimes back when President Ruto visited Mount Kenya region, he insisted that he will not shake hands with Raila. He knew this is what the locals wanted to hear.
He spoke as he unveiled a raft of the development projects. President Ruto and his deputy means well for the country. Let us continue supporting them.
