A young man complained to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: – My father is old and very destitute. I’m afraid they are crazy. They come to my house and take whatever they can get their hands on.
They called the father of the Lord of the Universe, may God bless him and grant him peace. He asked an old, poor, broken-down man who came to him: “Is what your son said true?” – they asked.
“Yes, that’s right,” said the old man. – I raised my son myself. His mother died early. Not myself – I did it for my son, I did not wear it myself – I wore it for my son. I hoped that I would see it when I was old. But he left. He doesn’t hear from me. When I come home and sell whatever I can get, I get food for money. O Messenger of God! Is this right or wrong?

Hearing these words of the father, the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, took the son by the shoulder and said: “Whatever you have found, even you yourself, are your father’s property. If your earned property is not enough, your father has the right to collect the money to buy you. You don’t think that I am the owner of the properties I found and that my father has nothing to do with it. Your father has everything!”
There is another hadith on this topic:
A girl complained about her mother:
“My mother is not smart enough.” They come to my house and make trouble, they don’t give me peace.
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wassallam called his mother. A very old, poor mother said: “O Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace!” My daughter doesn’t understand if I tell her to be patient. He doesn’t even send his children. I lie alone as food for flies. I will neither die nor enjoy it. That’s how careless my daughter is.
The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
– Who raised you in his womb for nine months, nine days, and nine hours? Who gave birth to you on the brink of death? Who nursed you for two years? Who brought you to adulthood? This is your mother! If you do not please this mother, heaven is forbidden to you! If you repent – you did it, or I will take half of your property.
The girl repented.
