Question: Who really is Ngatha ya Ciiko?
Answer: My name is Leah Wanjiru Muchai from Chomo Village, Gatanga Ward in Murang’a County. I Went to Loreto High School Kiambu, did Personal branding and Character development at Born to Lead academy, and also pursued diploma in Conselling and Psychology at Daystar and a bachelor degree in the same faculty at Pan African Christian (PAC) University where I’m doing my masters too. I love giving, farming, reading motivational books, offering an ear and so much more.
Question: Why did you choose “Ngatha ya Ciiko” to be your campaign slogan?
Answer: In Gikuyu, “ngatha” means, “Maitu mwinyihia, wii itiio na mwendi andu.” NGATHA MEANS A VIRTUOUS WOMAN IN PROVERBS 31. That also translates to a humble, respectful, diligent woman who is loving to everybody regardless of their place in the society. I am that woman. The slogan suits me and the people of Murang’a are loving it.
Question: What is your leadership track?
Answer: My leadership experience can be reimbursed from a history of leadership in the schools I attended, in deliverance church Kasarani, youth and women groups.
Question: Why did you opt to join Muranga County Women Rep Politics?
Answer: I joined politics after I realised that our Country and especially my home county requires more Leaders than politicians. I regard myself as a leader.
Question: What were you Doing before joining C021 W. Rep Politics?
Answer: I have been doing businesses in the hospitality industry as well as tenders in the private sector.
Question: How do you plan to serve Muranga County if elected Muranga’s W.Rep ( MNA)?
Answer: I have a well thought MANIFESTO. Some of the ideas in my manifesto are:
-Through NGAAF fund, I want to empower men & women with table banking at zero interest and train them on profitable projects.
– See that our girls are not ruined into early pregnancies, early marriage or FGM practice.
-Agribusiness n industrialisation to create jobs for the youth
-Mental wellness n awareness for all.
-Mentorship programs in primary and secondary schools .
-Scholarships and modernisation of old Technical schools.
Question: What advise will you tell young people out there?
Answer: My advice to the youth: Just do it! The world is open with opportunities, just try your potential and pursue your dreams, explore your passion and gifts because employment is not the only way to success. If any politician wants to recruit you to lead in insulting his rivals and starting violence on them, kindly tell them to give their children that opportunity.
Question: What message Do you have for Murang’a County people?
Answer: I want to urge the people of Murang’a to be very vigilant and politically conscious during this electioneering time. Wanjiku should throw his/her support and cast his/her vote in favor of the aspirant with a vision, a verifiable leadership track, a brave, humble and socially approachable and available personality. I am replica of the leader C021 needs to represent women, youth, the handicapped and marginalized groups as well as the county itself in the national assembly. To the people of Murang’a County, I humbly ask for your support and your vote as your 2nd member of national assembly (women Representative) during August general election.
