Nakuru government distributes bio-fertilizer to boost production
Nakuru go Governor Lee Kinyanjui distributing fertilizer in Bahati constituency yesterday.

Nakuru County government yesterday launched the distribution of biofertiliser to farmers across Nakuru County.
Area governor Lee Kinyanjui said the farmers will use the fertiliser as top dressing for all crops.
Among the beneficiaries of 75 tonnes of the fertilizer were coffee growers from Bahati area.
“Through our Trade and Cooperatives department, we have supported coffee farmers by installing new machines in factories,” the governor said during the ceremony at Mutungati Coffee Cooperative in Bahati where he also noted that the society is a beneficiary of modernization courtesy of Nakuru County.
He added, “we have supported Ndemu and Wikurie Coffee Cooperatives with new disk pulpers and we are in the process of acquiring similar equipment for Jumatatu Coffee Cooperative. Our plan is to double coffee production in Nakuru in the next four years”.
Kinyanjui who is defending his seat on Jubilee ticket further revealed that his administration will set up a financial grant for the seven cooperatives in Bahati for them to increase production.
“To ensure farmers get maximum returns, we will invest, in value addition so that the coffee harvested from farms is processed locally. I am happy to report that we have employed 60 more extension officers to help our farmer,” he observed.
