Economist Peter Maina Munyiri says he is the best placed person to steer Nyeri County forward as the current leadership has miserably failed.
The government, led by Mwalimu Mutahi Kahiga has nothing to offer and the best Nyerians should do is to send it packing and replace it with visionary leadership.
Nyerians, Munyiri says should not be blinded by political parties waves but should critically analyse those who have presented themselves for leadership in various levels.
Speaking during an Inooro TV morning show where alongside Kirinyaga Senator Charles Kibiru they were hosted by presenters Nderitu Waihura and Michael Njenga, the banker said political parties have little to do with individual’s capability to perform.
Munyiri said he had carried out extensive research on Nyeri County needs and aspirations and had a manifesto outlining all what the locals require to prosper.
The manifesto borne out of his research and interactions is what he will use to make unimaginable positive changes if the constituents vote for him during the August 9th General Election.
He said key areas that need urgent intervention were health, agriculture, and infrastructure sectors which he noted were the economic driving forces.
He promised to make far reaching changes in the county which he noted were for the benefit of the locals as well as visitors.
The Chama Cha Kazi (CCK ) gubernatorial candidate expressed confidence of winning the forthcoming polls.
Munyiri was born in Mathira, but currently resides in Kieni but has retained great touch with his birth place.
Before deciding to plunge in the world of politics, he held various posts in the corporate. These include having served as Deputy Group Managing Director for Kenya Commercial Bank, serving as General Manager at Cooperative Bank and Managing Director of Family Bank.
Others financial institutions that he had a stint at are Barclays Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.
Besides that, he is a dairy and crops farmer.
He will be facing the nearly 500,000 voters with the incumbent Mutahi Kahiga who is defending his seat on UDA ticket, Dr Thuo Mathenge of The New Democrats (TND) and Jubilee’s Ephraim Maina Kirinyaga.
