(Baliqliqul) Sultan Uwais ibn Amir al-Qarani is a very respected person in Islam and Sufism. He lived during the time of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This holy man spent his whole life traveling around the world and propagating Islam. The life and death of Sultan Uwais Qarani caused many legends. It is said that after his death in the battle of Siffa, the seven sultans could not decide who should bury Qaraniyu. Every sultan prepares a coffin and sees that a saint is lying in each of them. There are several places where Qarani is buried in the Muslim world. One such place is located in Chortoq district of Namangan region. According to legend, he came here to spread Islam. In addition, it is said that Karani’s mother is also buried here. When he was dying, the saint could not find water to wash him for a long time, so Qarani asked God for water and hit the dry ground with his hand, and a holy spring appeared at the place where he hit. Mazar in this place, in the 12-13 centuries. was established and over time, a large architectural complex including a mosque, a mausoleum and a museum appeared here. That is, the village of Baliqlikol of Sultan Uvais Qarani (Baliqlikol) Chortok district. a place that has caught the attention of many. In recent years, large-scale reconstruction works have been carried out here. The territory of the complex and the adjacent part were beautified, a library and even a hotel were built. Today, the complex has all the conditions for performing pilgrimage rituals. The main entrance is decorated with a symbolic gate. In the central part, there is a water reservoir, and the buildings of the mosque and the mausoleum are so skillfully decorated.
For several centuries, the shrine attracts pilgrims from all over the world. Many guests come here not only from our region but also from neighboring countries. There are no number of pilgrims every year. According to scientists, 140 liters of water per minute are released from this lake. What kind of industry is it that the fish do not reproduce. It does not decrease. No one knows the number of hams. The most amazing thing is that the water temperature is almost the same in winter and summer. The description of the spring, which has been supplying water to an entire village for centuries, is long. Therefore, there is no end to the steps of the pilgrims. According to the statements of those who have lived in this place, there are 3-4 years old in the arches under the very big trees at the top of the spring. there were fish the size of a child. They came to the surface of the water at quiet night and at calm times. Today, it has become the most beautiful complex, a place of solitude and peace.
