Kieni constituency parliamentary candidate on United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket Anthony Njoroge Wainaina Chieni has promised to sponsor a Bill in Parliament to tame the skyrocketing high food prices in the country.
Once elected, Chieni says he will ensure that the cost of the 2kgs maize flour will not be higher than Sh115.
The businessman spoke as he engaged voters in the constituency after they raised their concern over the ever increasing cost of basic commodities.
He at the same lashed at the Jubilee Government over white elephant projects of mega dams of Karemeno and Naromoru saying the residents have suffered for many years due to lack of water for irrigation.
He said he was optimistic that the new government under Kenya Kwanza Alliance coalition would address many issues that citizens in various parts of the country have been raising in Bottom Up Economic forums as well in public rallies and hall meetings.
