The Lands Cabinet Secretary, Alice Wahome, has launched the Ardhisasa platform in Murang’a County.
The Ardhisasa system is a digital platform that will enable local residents to access services in the local land registry as it strengthens the security of land tenure by removing human interference with land ownership records.
The system is designed to alert landowners by telephone and email when there is an attempt to conduct a transaction on their land.
“I want to assure you that beginning today, the familiar problems with the land registry will be history. No one will be able to fraudulently tamper with your land ownership records,” said CS Wahome.
The digitization process began in 2021 at the Murang’a land registry, with 387,635 registers and 269,694 files successfully scanned and transmitted to Nairobi’s data centre.
The Ardhisasa system is designed to alert landowners when transactions attempt to occur on their land.
The government is also working to streamline land transactions, expunging cartels and brokers who have defrauded residents seeking services in the land registries.
