Nairobi played host to a landmark event on December 13, 2024, as the Elite Brands Awards International brought together over 100 companies and individuals from 18 African nations. Held at a hotel in Nairobi, the awards celebrated excellence, innovation, and leadership across diverse industries, reinforcing Africa’s position as a hub of transformative talent and visionary business practices.
Organized by Jubilant Stewards of Africa, the awards spotlighted organizations and individuals who excel not only in their fields but also in their commitment to societal impact. Speaking during the event, Jared Oundo, Executive Director of Jubilant Stewards of Africa, emphasized the broader vision behind the initiative.
“We are honored to have hosted the Elite Brands Awards International here in Kenya,” said Mr. Oundo. “This event is a celebration of those who push boundaries, innovate, and challenge the status quo to create meaningful change. As we look to future editions, let us continue to strive for excellence that benefits not only our sectors but society at large.”
The awards use the Organizational Performance Index (OPI) to assess nominees’ adherence to global standards, including process excellence, innovation, and societal impact. Winners were selected after extensive research and industry benchmarking.
The event recognized achievements in various industries, including microfinance, real estate, healthcare, technology, and media. Among the honorees were Mwananchi Credit Limited, Kevian Kenya Limited, Myspace Properties, and M-Kopa, each lauded for their innovative approaches and contributions to their respective sectors.
Zelipher Wairimu, Sales Administrator at Kevian Kenya, described the recognition as a significant milestone for the company. “This award is both humbling and inspiring. It is a testament to our dedication to quality and innovation, and it motivates us to keep delivering exceptional products and services,” she said.
In the healthcare sector, institutions such as Westlands Laser Eye Hospital and Allsmiles Therapy Center stood out for their commitment to enhancing medical services. Meanwhile, companies like Trinity Transporters and Sun FM and TV Zambia were honored for their impact in logistics and media, respectively.
The ceremony was more than just a celebration; it fostered dialogue and networking among leaders from government, business, and media. Dr. Ekra Ndungu, Chairperson of the Kenya National Association of Private Colleges (KENAPCO), commended the event for its role in highlighting Africa’s potential. “Every award presented here tonight tells a story of perseverance, commitment, and relentless pursuit of excellence,” she remarked.
The night concluded on a high note, with participants looking forward to future editions of the awards. Jubilant Stewards of Africa announced plans for similar events in South Africa in April 2025, Kenya in June 2025, and an international ceremony in Dubai or the UK in December 2025.
By continuing to celebrate and inspire excellence across industries, the Elite Brands Awards International promises to remain a beacon for innovation and leadership on the continent.
