Deputy President Hosts Leaders From Kiambu County

The Kenya Kwanza administration is investing in transformative programmes that will turnaround the economic and social status of Kenyans in fulfillment of the commitments outlined in the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has noted.

He said with the achievement of the macroeconomic stability and increased production in agriculture through policy and administrative interventions, the government has embarked on deliberate policies and programmes that will increase the household incomes for a majority of the citizens.

These include the affordable and social housing programme, job creation locally, digitally and abroad, value addition in agriculture and livestock, mining and infrastructure development to support the revitalization of value chains.

To facilitate tracking of all the commitments contained in the County Economic Forums, we will hold annual consultative engagements with leaders, stakeholders and professionals to assess the implementation of government programmes and identify priority development projects for each County.

The DP made the remarks at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi where he held a consultative forum with Kiambu County leaders on ongoing and proposed development projects and implementation of government programmes. The meeting was attended by top county leadership who included; National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, MPs; Ann Muratha (Woman Representative, Kiambu), Githua Wamacukuru (Kabete), Machua Waithaka (Kiambu Town), Mburu Kahangara (Lari), Alice Ng’ang’a (Thika Town), Simon King’ara (Ruiru), GG Kagombe (Gatundu South), Elijah Njoroge Kururia (Gatundu North), John Njuguna Wanjiku (Kiambaa), Maina Karobia (Member, EALA) as well as Members of the County Assembly and grassroots leaders.
