Health is a precious gift. And it’s painful when the adversary steals it. If you or your loved one is having any health challenge, finding solace and guidance will bring you comfort.
The Bible provides us with timeless wisdom and guidance on various aspects of life, including our well-being, including spiritual, social and physical health, that includes good health.
The ongoing discussion around SHA requires sober discussion.
We can’t keep beating around the bushes and avoiding the real issue. Kenya requires quality health that is acceptable, accessible and affordable to all regardless of social, religious or economic status.
Article 43 (1) (a) of the Constitution provides that every person has the right to the highest attainable standard of health, which includes the right to health care services, including reproductive health care.
For Kenya to achieve Universal health coverage (UHC) where all people have access to the full range of quality health services they need, when and where they need them, without financial hardship, the issue surrounding SHA must be addressed.
Health professionals that include Kenya Clinical Officers Association, Kenya Medical Association and National Nurses Association of Kenya among other professional bodies together with the Ministry of Health, Council of Governors and other key stakeholders should come together to have a collaborative approach in order to deliver what our people need.
We must have a logical and sensible perspective in the current situation for us to make rational decisions. Technical assistance from an honest Kenyan will save the situation .
Otherwise, all is not lost, and there is hope to salvage the situation at hand.
