We should not use theory alone if the topic that is being taught can be demonstrated practically furthermore those being taught should be allowed to practice as they learn so that they can be sure that they have fully understood how the system works and be able to independently exercise from that time onwards.
Story tellers must know well the environment where their audience resides so that the examples that they use are easy to understand rather that bringing mere imaginations in the minds of their audience.

There is a need to weigh the capacity and level of understanding of your audience. Some sensitive issues need not to be taught to people who can use that information to endanger their lives and that of others for example if you are dealing with security related issues you should be able to monitor your trainees behaviour during and after that session as some may tend to misuse the knowledge that they have gained to endanger the public.
Whenever there is new technology which is time and other resources saving then you should not dwell on teaching the old system as it will be less efficient if applied in the market. Try to be as relevant and progressive as possible.
Any scenario that you are demonstrating should have well laid basics so that the learners can be able to build up from there with ease as well as allowing room for creativity provided basics are fixed.
The language of instruction should be the one best understood by the audience so they do not struggle trying to make interpretation of what terms used mean especially when words used have multiple meanings.
The tonation and facial expressions used by the speaker need to easily interpreted by the audience where stressing is needed they should easily see and hear it being put. On a humorous note the need to feel relaxed
