Wanjohi. P. Mugambi
His body was lying
With a subtraction of a life that lived
He was no more
He was dead
Yet no one knew him
The world was dark to him
A green tree without any branch
At his age he didn’t have an heir
He was dead
Yet no one knew him
This boy was not beautiful
He was not good nor clever
But his mother’s tears spoke alot
My only son
Whom will i leave behind
He was dead
Yet no one knew him
All older men look at him
Staring the box of death before them
How could it be
A young going before the
He was dead
Yet no one knew him
At least one person could come
Say they knew each other
And give the mother an heir
But he was dead
Yet no one knew him
It was evident as neighbors said
He did not see anyone
Like the old green trees with many branches
This young green tree was just there
Lying in the death bed
For he was dead
Yet no one knew him
