A few hours after he named his running mate, a billboard calling on Nyeri County voters to support his gubernatorial bid has been destroyed.
The billboard bearing the portrait of Dr Thuo Mathenge was defaced by unknown people, an act that he condemned saying it would not distract his quest to seek the governor leadership.
“I know it is the work of my competitors. I know they have panicked as I am ahead of them and with God, I will eventually be the next governor,” Dr Mathenge lamented when contacted over the issue.
He said his mission was clear as he had the vision of delivering Nyerians from the misery of poor leadership.
The destruction comes just a few hours after the industrialist publicly paraded his deputy, Dr Esther Wanjiru Maina.
Similar destruction of billboards have in the recent weeks been reported in the county.
Some of the victims include Senator Ephraim Maina Kirinyaga who is also seeking the gubernatorial position and economist Gachara Kamanga alias Anko G of Vision 2030.
