- President Kibaki wanted to create a conducive environment for learning as he did not want children to be sent home due to lack of learning material since he wanted children to fulfill their dream through free primary education. In his term, he also set aside resources for bursaries to only parents who were not able to raise fee for their secondary students.

He also allocated funds for university learning and development of infrastructure within the university and also to development of new institution such as tertiary colleges. The history of education in Kibaki’s government remains a testimony to everyone for the great commitment he had in it.
The governance of The Late Hon Mwai Kibaki has remained to be emulated by many leaders. He came to power in the year 2002, and he promised to follow the footsteps of his predecessor. The country at that time was at low time low in terms of socio-economic and political progress. Kibaki well known as anti-corruption crusader as he eliminated corruption in Kenya.
He informed the public on the need to eradicate corruption as it was a great enemy of development. He informed citizens including all officers in his government and multinationals agencies and even going to an extent of forming Ethics and Anti-corruption Commission (EACC) body after he signed the Act on August 29th, 2011.
In the Education sector, Hon Kibaki had a selfless and a passionate leader in education. He declared the provision of free primary education in order for parents and guardian accesses it for their children. He allocated funds which were budgeted by the Cabinet Secretary of Finance who was David Mwiraria to improve the condition of public schools such as infrastructure. The money was also to be used in purchasing learning materials such as textbooks and pens.

Hon Kibaki also was a epitome of Kenya’s economy. He revived the economy of Kenya by boasting the sector of education to be free for primary school, the health sector among others. The economic Status of East Africa region encountered a myriad of challenges and had to be overcome. In the health sector, Kibaki allocated resources to be used for purchasing medical equipment and drugs for the patient.
Mosquito nets were distributed to people in various part of the country, reducing the spread of malaria. In the transport and communication sector, Kibaki improved the condition of roads transport by putting across project of construction of Highway and expanding the airport of Kisumu Airport. This eased the transport and communication sector.
Furthermore, he introduced the Constituency level Development Fund (CDF) in the year 2003 that was to help develop a project at the Constituency level. This meant that all parts of the country were to develop equally. This impacted the economy of Kenya greatly and shaping Kenya’s image worldwide to be recognized in international media outlets. Kibaki has achieved a lot and changed the economic status of the country and has left behind remarkable achievement by remaining an epitome of the third president of Kenya.
