Moscow International Book Fair, South African Author’s Flying The Flag High

The future of literature, writing and books it won’t be the same in South Africa and the world with this vibrant event that is happening in Moscow 2025.

South African authors are proudly showcasing their work alongside writers from around the world, promoting a vibrant culture of reading and storytelling on the global stage.

South African authors are keeping the pot boiling by Networking and promoting South African literature at the Moscow International Book Fair

Department of Sport, Arts & Culture proudly supports 12 South African literary practitioners at the Moscow International Book Fair, the 27th International Book Fair for high-quality fiction and non-fiction, taking place from 4–7 December in Moscow, Russia.

Badanile Mohlamme the former National radio drama writer in Ikwekwezi FM that was produced by FBK Skhosana she is one of the honored and acknowledged author of high profile to be part of the Authors team from South Africa to Moscow-Russia.

This international invitation is a meaningful acknowledgement of the power of storytelling and the importance of South African voices in global literary spaces.

It honours the everyday magic of what we do – helping children discover joy through reading, in the languages that feel like home. Authors are deeply honoured to contribute to this global platform and thrilled to see South Africa’s reading-for-enjoyment movement recognised internationally.

Badanile is from Mpumalanga province at kwaNdebele in Siyabuswa “A”. She is the recently award winner of the drama book title: “Sibangulwa Ngesibuthundu” competition that was hosted in the province organized by the Department of Arts and Culture.

This international annual event it encourages the culture of reading for pleasure and enjoyment in languages that people feels comfortable with.

She is representing an indigenous language that was marginalized in South Africa which is isiNdebele.
