President is expected to visit Tharaka-Nithi County this Sunday where he enjoys strong support for his leadership and the growing two-term campaign momentum.
The President will worship at PCEA Jennifer Njuki Memorial Church in Magumoni Ward, where he is also expected to support the ongoing construction of the church.
Leaders in the county have expressed confidence that the visit will not only focus on the church fundraiser but will also bring development benefits to the region.
Tharaka-Nithi Governor said the county fully supports President Ruto and Deputy President Kindiki, noting that the region is firmly part of the two-term campaign aimed at securing a second term for the President.
Speaking yesterday during a church service at PCEA Igambang’ombe Church, where he had joined fellow leaders and worshippers led by Rev. Rose Mbabu in supporting the construction of God’s house, Governor Njuki said that presidential visits often come with added benefits for local development.
He noted that whenever the President visits a region, even for a church service, he comes with development support, expressing confidence that the upcoming visit will go beyond a church construction fundraiser.
The Governor said the President is also expected to follow up on ongoing projects in the county, including roads and the Nithi Bridge, to ensure that contractors deliver the works within the required timelines.
Governor Njuki called on residents to come out in large numbers to welcome the Head of State during his visit.
He also highlighted that several development projects, especially road works, are currently ongoing across Tharaka, Maara and Igambang’ombe constituencies.
“We welcome the Head of State in our county coming Sunday and we are sure he will come with goodies,” said Njuki.
Leaders present, including Tharaka-Nithi County Assembly Speaker Hon. John Mbabu and Members of the County Assembly; Hon. Justin Kithinji (Magumoni), Hon. Anita Mbae (Mariani), Hon. Jacob Kiriko (Mugwe) and Hon. Zachary Njagi (Nominated) who joined in rallying residents to turn up and give the President a warm reception.
Speaker Mbabu lauded Governor Njuki’s leadership noting that he has achieved great milestone as a governor and when he served as Chuka/Igambango’mbe MP for only one term.
“Governor Njuki has done a lot of development in our county and we are sure our people will consider him for a senatorial seat next year,” said Mbabu.
