Worth Noting:

  • A number of inefficiencies are cited by those who oppose communism as their main target is not to make profit rather it is provision of goods and services to the masses. Much as their productivity will not be measured by the way they utilise the resources available they need to be sensitive to wastage trying to minimize it as anything not properly used shall affect anyone in the economy where they are operating.
  • A government operative should not aim at sabotaging a personal rival by advising the government to produce and distribute at no charge what that rival is producing at a reasonable fee unless that product is of great essence and majority of the public cannot afford it at the prevailing market rates.

Our form of government does not enter into rivalry with the institutions of others. Our government does not copy our neighbors’, but is an example to them. It is true that we are called a democracy, for the administration is in the hands of the many and not of the few.

But while there exists equal justice to all and alike in their private disputes, the claim of excellence is also recognized; and when a citizen is in any way distinguished, he is preferred to the public service, not as a matter of privilege, but as the reward of merit….……… Pericles.

Capitalism generally refers to private ownership of factors of production where those who own factors like capital and land decide on what to produce, when to produce and how much to produce. Their main drive towards this is the profit motive. Provided they get good margins their productivity levels could be increased to the highest levels that the available factors of production can allow. During these times of massive production they enjoy economies of scale which results to lowering of unit cost of production.

The proponents of capitalism are opponents of communism arguing that when individual efforts are rewarded there are incentives for them to work hard hence further improve production process forgetting that during periods of dominance of capitalism monopolies discourage new entrants shuttering dreams of small and medium enterprises. Should a case happen that an employee of a certain monopoly is no longer wanted by it he could find it difficult to enter into the market by forming a startup company despite having the technical knowhow as this it is a no go zone for competitors.

Most of government services are not optional for example the health services, security and certain educational courses. Those employed to carry out these services need to be aware that their coverage is so wide that in case they misbehave a lot of people are hurt yet some of these hurt could not be able to afford for such services elsewhere.

When you provide a good service to someone else you save time as he will not waste it suing or complaining about you, you will also not waste it trying to defend yourself.

Satisfied with your services your client will go ahead and continue with his daily chores in a good mood, feeling motivated that he has attained success in what he was seeking from you so his productivity levels are likely to be boosted. The overall effect would be an increase in gross domestic product.

There are people who look upon you as a civil servant as their role models. How you behave consciously or unconsciously will affect how they will behave from that time henceforth so what you do is likely to be replicated somewhere else mind you, you may be the one requiring such services in the future and your imitator will fashion it the way he saw you do it so be wary of whatever you do and the manner tha
