Nations Population Fund Report Kenya has recorded 378,397 adolescent and teenage pregnancy for girls aged 10-19 years between July 2016 and June 2017, specifically 28,932 girls aged 10-14 and 249,465 girls aged 15- 19 become pregnant.
It means that our population is growing so fast that is not going to meet our economic status as a nation. Therefore, it is high time for all of us to come out and fight against this teenage pregnancy that will help our girls to get good health and education as they are growing.
Parents should the biggest role in avoiding this by talking to their children early and often about sex and love by specifically being honest and open, saying few words that they easily understand and then being real to them.
Every parent should listen carefully to find out what every child already understands about sex and love by making the conversation back and forth ; two ways.
Talking with your children about sex will not encourage them to become sexually active rather kids need just as much help in understanding how relationship work and the tips for parents to help children Avoid Teenage Pregnancy Sex as they do in understanding how their body parts work.
Let your children know what you value and believe and then be sure to be role model and “walk the talk”.
A parent should let the children know they can talk about whatever they are thinking or worrying about at any given time.
