BAPS Celebrates 25th Anniversary Of The Shree Swaminarayan Mandir

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the BAPS Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Nairobi, a prayer project was organized by the young children of the community, where they conducted prayers in 25 hospitals. The young girls aged 9-14 years prepared prayers in Kiswahili and English, which were recited in front of patients in the hospitals, praying for peace and wishing good health to the patients and their families.
The project officially started on 9th March 2024 and ended on 26th March 2024, during which young girls visited 14 hospitals in Nairobi, 4 hospitals in Thika, 4 hospitals in Ruiru, 2 hospitals in Limuru and 1 hospital in Kiambu. Amongst these hospitals, we visited 8 different wards: ICU Ward, Chemo Ward, Male Ward, Female Ward, Pediatric Ward, Dialysis Ward and Maternity Ward. At the end of the project, the girls prayed for a total of 647 patients.
As a concluding visit, the young girls namely: Saachi Patel, Siana Patel, Flora Patel, Siddhi Parekh & Murti Patel accompanied by Dr. R.K Patel, Mukesh Patel, Anjana Patel, Dr. Kinita Patel, Krisma Patel and Vrunda Patel visited Lions SightFirst Eye Hospital received by Dr. Manilal Dodhia, and Dr. Rizwana Peerbhoy on 20th April 2024. During this visit, prayers were held for 56 patients from Kitui and Kiritiri who were treated completely free of cost. The patients expressed their utmost gratitude and blessed the young girls wholeheartedly.
The 5th spiritual leader of the BAPS organisation, Pramukh Swami Maharaj, has always emphasized the importance of service and compassion. His belief is that faith and prayers are not just spiritual practices but also powerful sources of healing. Faith can provide an additional layer of comfort and strength to patients facing illness or adversity.
This project has reinforced, Pramukh Swami Maharaj’s motto “In The Joy Of Others Lies Our Own.”
