In a recent meeting, philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has urged President William Ruto of Kenya to consider the implementation of a new digital identification system for newborns in the country. This proposal aims to improve access to vital services and healthcare for all Kenyan children, enhance government record-keeping, and support overall development efforts.

The New Digital ID System:

Gates proposed a comprehensive digital ID system that would assign a unique identification number to every newborn in Kenya. This ID would be linked to their health records, vaccination history, and other essential information. The system would utilize secure and modern technology to ensure data privacy and security.

Key Objectives:

Improved Access to Healthcare: The digital ID system would make it easier for parents to access healthcare services for their newborns, including vaccinations, medical check-ups, and emergency care.

Efficient Government Record-Keeping: The digital IDs would assist the Kenyan government in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of its citizens, allowing for more effective policy planning and resource allocation.

Targeted Development Initiatives: With a better understanding of the population’s needs, the government can implement targeted development initiatives to improve education, nutrition, and overall well-being of children in Kenya.

Support and Collaboration:

Bill Gates has expressed his willingness to support the Kenyan government in the development and implementation of this digital ID system, drawing on the expertise of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in healthcare and technology.

President Ruto’s Response:

President Ruto has welcomed Bill Gates’ proposal and has promised to convene a task force to explore the feasibility and potential challenges of implementing the system. He has emphasized the importance of safeguarding the privacy and security of citizens’ data while moving forward with this initiative.

The Road Ahead:

As Kenya considers the implementation of a new digital ID system for newborns, this proposal has the potential to bring about significant improvements in healthcare and social services for the country’s youngest citizens. The collaboration between Bill Gates and President Ruto signals a strong commitment to the well-being and development of Kenya’s children.

Did President Ruto ask Bill Gates to firstly get American babies inserted with these digital chips & inform Kenyans/Africans of the outcome?

Where are our own African scientists & medical experts to check the safety, benefits & risks of these digital chips before agreeing for it to be inserted in Kenyan babies?

Of course, I suppose non of these salient questions were asked because as always, bribery & corruption of those at the top can make anything possible in our continent even at the detriment of our children!
