Botswana is a country rich in culture, diversity and a long history of storytelling. From the ancient oral traditions of the San people to modern-day literary works. Botswana has a vibrant literary scene that is yet to be celebrated with the first-ever Botswana literature Awards hosted by Poeticblood Publishers. The awards ceremony will be a momentous occasion that brings together writers, publishers and literally enthusiasts from across the country to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Botswana literary community. The awards were established to recognise and reward excellence in writing, to encourage the growth and development of Botswana literary scene.
The awards are set to be held at Botswana National Museum in Gaborone on the 28th of April 2023. This inaugural event will be laid in the hands of Mr Leatile G Moseki who will be a host for the night. Among the audience the event shall be graced by a distinguished panel of Judges including prominent writers, critics and literally scholars. The judges are tasked with evaluating submissions from various categories including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, children’s book and others.
