Bursary Is On The Way – Kieni NG-CDF Chairman Tells Constituents

Kieni constituency National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) chairman Samson Mbugu has assured students from financially disadvantaged families that they will be issued with bursaries next month.
Mbugu says his office will from Monday start disbursing Bursary Forms, which the needy students are expected to, fill before they are given the schooling funds.
Speaking at the constituency offices in Mweiga yesterday, Mbugu revealed that this year, they would be setting aside Sh50 million for the needy students from the area.
He said the forms would be made available in all corners of the vast constituency and would be issued free of charge.
“We shall make available enough forms for all the needy students. These forms will be available in every village, and no charges are applicable for those applying. After filling, they should be taken to the local administrator’s offices for onward delivery to the constituency office,” the chairman said, adding that within three weeks, cheques would be out for the beneficiaries.
He said hundreds of parents have been flocking the constituency offices seeking the bursary funds.
It is out of the large number of needy students that informed the area Member of Parliament Njoroge Wainaina who is the Fund patron to request them to increase the bursary allocation.
At the same time, Mbugu disclosed that the Fund will embark on renovating and constructing learning rooms, which are in deplorable conditions.
He noted that most of the nearly 200 public schools in the area were in a sorry state and needed either renovation or reconstruction of most of the available infrastructure.
