I can say in my gifting in football and servant sacrificial leadership in the fraternity; before I got a life changing knee injury and operation; Not only did I play at the best level (selected the best player amongst peers, Topped awards etc), I have come to observe and learn that PERSONAL DISCIPLINE is the indispensable key for accomplishing anything in this life. I have since come to understand even more that it is, in fact, the MOTHER AND HANDMAIDEN OF WHAT WE CALL GENIUS.
I am particularly impressed at such a time (March 2023) by the captain George Ndung’u of my local football team (Sam West BlackBoots F.C), where I serve as the CEO/ SG of the team, and senior coach of the Academy. At many instances, while I am coaching the small kids (Academy) before the senior team (which he captains) comes in for training, I have seen this captain come in earlier, does his personal training and techniques. I have seen over time, him becoming a master of his craft, and leading in the field with excellence and finesse. May the good Lord, enable him the more, and actualize his dream, as well as the entire team.
I remember him, telling me a while back when we were in the FKF Regional league, that: “Moseh, I just want to play football, and to the Top level.” I sensed the passion in his tone, and his resolve of the direction in life he wants to take. I was moved to say the least, thus I humbly pray for the fulfilment. That season( FKF 2021/2022) we managed to top( No.1) the Central FKF Regional league, with an impressive unbeaten run in all the matches that he featured, and by merit we were PROMOTED to FKF Division 2, Eastern Zone, which we are currently featuring, and hoping for the best. In this journey, I have come to fondly refer to him as CAPTAIN UNBEATABLE.
The Scripture clearly educates us in 1 Corinthians 9: 24-25 “‘24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize, 25’ Everyone who competes in the games goes into STRICT TRAINING (DISCIPLINE)…,..”
HALELUJAH, MAY THE GOOD LORD ACCOMPLISH THE DREAM OF THESE LADS( SamWest BlackBoots F.C), FAVOR THEM, STRENGTHEN THEM THE MORE, AND ENABLE THEM IN THEIR CRAFT WITH DISCIPLINE TO ATTAIN EXCELLENCE/ PERFECTION IN JESUS CHRIST MIGHTY NAME: AMEN.
