Over the years women have been regarded as inferior to men. This was evident even in the historical classical and medieval periods. During this time, men took control of everything. However, women have tried to prove themselves capable.
From the renaissance period, the time just after the medieval era in history, there raised female intellectuals like Laura Cerata from Italy who promoted the culture of writing and through her writing, she questioned women traditional roles and argued for an increased presence of women in dialogues about issues such as education.
From this period women have tried to do extraordinary things among them being education, leadership and governance thus proving themselves able.
Today women are everywhere doing those things which were only to be done by men. Good examples include the United states of America’s vice president kamala Harris and other African presidents who are women like the Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu and Malawian president Joyce Banda and many others.
In Kenya women have come out to vie for political positions and even managed to secure the very positions they were vying for. Today we have women in the cabinet secretary docket, there are women governors among other administrative post held by women yet it was only thought that men were the ones who could perform better.
