Coca-Cola Kenya has announced the 10th and 11th million-shilling winners in its ongoing Funua Flava Pata Mita promotion, rewarding a construction worker and a small businesswoman from Nyeri County with KES 1 million each. The two winners, George Wachira Miano and Mary Ngatha Wangondu, received their cheques recently at Mediawash Distributors in Karatina.
The promotion, which has generated excitement nationwide, is nearing its conclusion with only one more KES 1 million weekly winner left to be announced. Over 11 million-shilling jackpot winners have emerged from diverse counties including Baringo, Uasin Gishu, Meru, Kisumu, Nyeri, Migori, Mombasa, and Nairobi.
George Wachira Miano recounted his journey to the grand prize. Initially skeptical after seeing the promotion on social media and hearing it on radio, his belief grew after winning a small prize of 50MB data from a single code sent via SMS. “One evening I was walking home from work, feeling completely worn out. I decided to buy a 200ml Coca-Cola from a vendor, sent the code under the crown to 40111, and won 50MB of data. That small win made me believe the promotion was genuine,” he shared. George plans to use his winnings to kickstart family businesses and gift his wife a washing machine.
Similarly, Mary Ngatha Wangondu, a small business trader, said the promotion caught her eye repeatedly on TikTok and TV, prompting her to try her luck. After several attempts, including winning 50MB data, she was stunned when a Coca-Cola representative confirmed her KES 1 million win. “I could not believe her at first. I only accepted it after she explained everything clearly,” she revealed. Mary intends to invest the prize money to complete payment on a plot she has been acquiring in installments, aiming to develop it into a thriving business.
Ampher Apidi, Experiential Marketing Manager at Coca-Cola Beverages Kenya, highlighted the campaign’s success, noting that aside from jackpot winners, thousands of participants have won smaller cash prizes of KES 100, KES 50,000, KES 100,000, and daily data bundles. This wide-ranging reward structure has fueled a vibrant and enthusiastic consumer response countrywide.
Previous weekly million-shilling winners include Paul Onyango and Sharon Ndunge from Nairobi, Linet Moraa Mugire from Eldoret, Miriam Wakio Kidungwa from Mombasa, Millicent Wanjiku Mwai from South C, Lauryne Jemutai Birir from Baringo, Jacob Ochieng Liech from Kisumu, and Emmanuel Kerario Gikumi, a 21-year-old automotive engineering student from Migori. Each winner’s story underscores how a simple purchase of a Coca-Cola beverage opened the door to life-changing opportunities.
The Funua Flava Pata Mita promotion encourages consumers to buy any 300ml glass bottle of Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite, Stoney, Krest, or Schweppes and send the unique code under the yellow crown cap via SMS to 40111. Besides the weekly KES 1 million jackpot, daily prizes include cash rewards and instant data bundles, creating multiple chances to win.As the promotion enters its final phase, Coca-Cola Kenya continues to celebrate its customers with transformative rewards, magnifying the impact of their favorite drinks beyond refreshment to real-life positive change.
