Kisii Law Courts to conduct next hearing session at Baby Sagini’s home in Ikuruma, village, Marani Subcounty Kisii County on 24/3/2023.
Investigation officer and one other witness to be cross examined.
Senior Principal Magistrate Christine Ogweno ordered that the court be moved to the scene of crime as it clinches the climax of the hearing proceedings.
Ogweno ordered the police at Rioma police station to provide the court with maximum security to the court attendants and the three accused persons involved in this matter.
She ordered Kisii OCS to move three accused persons Alex Ochogo, Rael Nyakerario and Pacificah Nyakerario to Rioma police station to attend the session.
Initially, arresting officer from DCI Headquarters Godhard Mburu took a witness stand and told the court they rearrested one Pacificah Nyakerario one of the accused persons in this case who was on the run and she was hiding in Kilometer Moja near Kenyatta University.
Mburu told the court, on the 19th of December last year he was given orders to arrest one Nyakerario after her photos were circulating on social media as one of the main suspects.
Police photograph Officer, John Ngeno also a witness told the court he took 11 photos from the scenes of crime with three photos showing where baby Sagini was found which included closer views.
“As part of my evidence, the 10th and 11th photos which I have here show where Baby Sagini was sent to fetch water from,” said the officer.
On interrogation by the Prosecution counsel Hilary Kaino, Ngeno said the homestead had grass, maize and banana plantation. However, the maize stakes were cut down by the time he had visited the scene.
Rael Nyakerario(grandmother), Pacificah Nyakerario(aunt) and Alex Ochogo (Cousin) to baby Sagini were arrested and charged with causing grievous harm whereby they all denied gouging eyes of baby Sagini.
Last week during the cross examination, Baby Sagini told the court that his grandmother Rael Nyakerario gouged his eyes.
