In a strategic move to deepen its presence across Africa, Daikin Air conditioning India Pvt. Ltd. (DAIPL), a fully owned subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd., Japan, officially inaugurated its new office facility in Nairobi on September 12, 2025. The new office, located on the 8th Floor of One Africa Place, Nairobi, symbolizes Daikin’s dedication to capturing the growing demand for cutting-edge and eco-friendly air-conditioning solutions across the continent while targeting to become the number one AC brand in Kenya within the next three years.
The modern office houses a state-of-the-art showroom designed to showcase Daikin’s expansive product range and innovative HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) solutions. It will also serve as a hub for marketing and promotional activities aimed at expanding the company’s footprint in the diverse and fast-growing African market. This step reinforces Daikin’s commitment to delivering quality, elegance, and superior consumer experience through a robust network of highly trained sales, service, and maintenance personnel.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. KJ Jawa, Chairman and Managing Director of Daikin India and Board Member of Daikin Industries Ltd., emphasized the significance of the Nairobi office in the company’s broader Africa strategy. “With India demonstrating strong growth, we are now focused on adopting an aggressive approach in Africa. This new office is a key milestone that strengthens our efforts to capture significant market share by providing unmatched consumer service through our dealer network and employees,” Mr. Jawa said. He further outlined the company’s long-term vision, highlighting the importance of strategic investments that go beyond capacity expansion. “Our investment reflects our commitment to drive excellence, foster enduring partnerships, and contribute to Africa’s evolving landscape, ensuring shared success for all stakeholders.”
Also present was Mr. Junichi Omori, General Manager of the Global Operations Division at Daikin Industries, who elaborated on the company’s ambitious expansion plans for Africa. “We are poised to accelerate our presence across the continent by introducing a host of new, Africa-specific products and significantly expanding our dealer network. The African market has shown remarkable momentum over the last year, and we project it to evolve into a multi-billion-dollar opportunity.”Mr. Omori pointed to rapid urbanization, infrastructural advancements, and rising housing demand as key drivers fueling the appetite for smart, energy-efficient air-conditioning systems. “In response, we are investing heavily in marketing, customer engagement, and dealer development to secure leadership and surpass our competitors within the next twelve months,” he added.
Daikin’s strategic push into Kenya aligns with the wider trend of growing demand for HVAC solutions tailored to local needs, addressing climate considerations and energy efficiency. The company’s focus on smart technologies, eco-friendly refrigerants, and user-friendly designs positions it well to leverage the expanding middle class and urban markets. Kenya’s AC market has witnessed robust growth driven by factors such as increased commercial developments, expanding hospitality sectors, and the residential building boom. Daikin’s entry with a dedicated office and showroom signals a strengthened commitment to localized support and faster service delivery.
As Daikin aggressively pursues its goal of becoming Kenya’s number one AC brand, its investment underlines confidence in Africa’s potential as a key driver of global growth in the HVAC industry. This expansion promises to bring innovative cooling solutions backed by superior service standards to Kenyan consumers, businesses, and institutions alike. The Nairobi office inauguration marks the beginning of Daikin’s intensified efforts in African markets through innovation, dedicated customer engagement, and strategic partnership development aimed at capturing substantial market share while contributing positively to the continent’s sustainable development goals. With ambitious targets set and a clear roadmap ahead, Daikin is well-positioned to revolutionize the air-conditioning experience for Kenyan customers over the next three years, spearheading a greener, smarter, and more comfortable environment for all.
