Democratic Action Party Kenya DAP-K has summoned Mumias East MP Peter Salysa today over his recent scandal in Kakamega. Speaking during an interview on Monday morning, DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa confirmed of the party leadership summoning the Lawmaker after his appearance in court.
“We have called him for a meeting, he will be appearing in court tomorrow, and thereafter have a meeting with the party’s top leadership.” Eugene Wamalwa said.
The former defence CS said the contact by the lawmaker can be traced to anger management issues and a harsh background, where the MP took responsibility at an earlier stage of life, which could be attributed to his current predicaments.
“He is particularly a very popular young man among the young people. He must be rationed with anger management issues.” Eugene Wamalwa said.
Eugene Wamalwa said the party is at core of mentoring the first time young MP into a serious focused leader, as he show his efforts and desire to help the people of his Constituency and the larger Western at large, including the Mumias Sugar Company matter. The party leader further saying the Lawmaker needs to have control and manage his recent public stunts.

“His story is compelling. Rising from an orphan to a leader. He went for the MP seat with absolutely nothing to beat his fellow aspirants. Unlike other young men who are rushing into generating wealth through wash was to make billions.” Eugene Wamalwa said.
Salysa Public Fights
In December last year, the MP and the Kakamega county Governor Fernandes Barasa, over Mumias Sugar Company. The MP accusing the county boss of lack of interest to the issues of the sugar company and the cries of the people of Kakamega, terming the governor as a failure to the people of Kakamega.
The county boss later saying the people of Mumias East made a mistake in electing the youthful MP. On Friday last week, the Lawmaker was caught in a scandal at a funeral in Mumias after attacking MCA Peter Walunya.
The MCA had asked the Lawmaker to respect the governor, as he was elected by the electorates just like him. The MCA told off the Lawmaker saying he should let the governor to take development projects to the people.
MP Peter Salysa has remained at the public scene both in Parliament and outside, with some including breaching of law. After the scandal, the first time DAP-K lawmaker on his X account said it was malice against him. His remarks receiving mixed reactions from users saying the MCA triggered the lawmaker, while others bashing him over constant violent acts.
“I Peter Salasya want to categorically state that I didn’t slap anyone. The MCA is the one who brought his cheek where my swinging hand was. The contact between my hand & his cheeks is said to have produced a sharp sound. I don’t remember assaulting anyone. Treat it as propaganda.” Read a post on his X official account.
The Lawmaker was arrested on Friday and was released on a cash bail of Kshs 50000. From the police records, the Lawmaker is charged under sections 251 and 95(1)(b) of the penal code for assault and causing actual bodily harm and creating disturbance in a manner that is likely to lead to a breach of peace respectively.
Regretting his actions the youthful MP later posted an apology to his constituents of his actions and pledged to manage his actions and anger
“I Peter Salasya wishes to express sincere apology to the people of Mumias East & all Kenyans at large. My actions in the recent past have not been that of a role model or an example to the young men & women. Going forward, I promise to control my anger & reaction. Ni shetani aki.” MP Peter Salysa post read.
