Principal Secretary in charge of Energy Alex Wachira WaTotal over the weekend officially joined one his home county’s Kikuyu elders group.
WaTotal was welcomed to Mwaki Wa Rware by the elders led by Kikuyu Council of Elders national chairman Wachira Kiago.
By joining the Nyeri’s group, he effectively left Mwaki Wa Karura Ka Nyungu which is based in Kiambu County.
“A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.I have been supportive of initiatives in my community that entrench our identity and values,” the PS said after being welcomed in the new group which has its base a few kilometers from his Irigithathi home in Kieni East Sub-County within Kieni constituency.
He added, “We had a great occasion as I officially moved my Mwaki to Mwaki wa Rware through Mburi ya Thaama. I thank the leaders of Mwaki Wa Rware and Mwaki wa Karura Ka Nyungu for the leadership and dedication in taking care of our boy Child and safeguarding the customs and culture of the Agikuyu people,”.
Rumours has it that the Principal Secretary’s move has everything to do with plans to contest a senior political position in Nyeri County, come the August 2027 General Election.
