The government will construct more administrative posts in Tharaka Nithi county to enhance service delivery to the people.
This follows a directive by Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kindiki Kithure.
Speaking to the media at the County Commissioner’s office at Kathwana, Igambang’ombe, Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Julius Arap Too said that they have a directive from the CS to create new administrative units to bring services closer to the people and improve security at the grassroots.
He revealed that they have started holding meetings with different leaders to write proposals for the administrative units that are yet to be created.
“We had a meeting with different leaders from Igambang’ombe to do proposals for administrative units that we want to add to bring services closer to the community,” he said.
The administrator also disclosed that they have conducted public participation for residents to submit their proposals and views on the new units.
Mr. Too noted that they have created new sub-locations adding that the current ones are far apart from each other making service delivery cumbersome.
He further added that they are yet to be gazetted and will be revealed to the public soon.
The administrator thanked the CS for the move saying it will go a long way to ensure sufficient delivery of government services.
On his part, Igambang’ombe ward MCA Joseph Njeru also acknowledged they have conducted public participation for the new administrative units.
He added that the CS for interior gave the directives to establish the units and they will soon be launched.
Njeru said they are satisfied with the decisions and once the units are gazetted they will be revealed to the public.
