Government Urged To Lower Food Prices Commodities

Kenya Kwanza leaders in Kisii region have petitioned the government to lower food prices commodities in the mercies of the vulnerable families to afford purchasing them.

This comes after the country is experiencing high prices of cooking oil, Maize flour and milk forcing many to go without food on their tables.

Speaking in Kisi County, Amani National Congress Deputy party leader and Kenyan-USA based ex-military Charles Matoke said high prices on food staffs have forced a number of Kenyans to go for one meal per a day while others spend days without food.

“The Country is experiencing food crises which should be addressed, many Kenyans are starving, we call the government to address this disaster,” said Matoke.

According to him,  many shops especially in the interior parts of the country they do not  sell cooking oil and milk due to hiking  prices forcing the vulnerable  families  to go without those food staffs.

UDA presidential campaign manager in Gusii Region Okeng’o Nyambane echoed Matoke’s sentiments by  calling upon the government to revive the prices.

He asked residents from Kisii to vote for Kenya Kwanza leaders because of the vision of changing the economy of the country to be favourable for everyone.

Mr Ogamba Migosi who is deputizing Machogu urged electorates to elect leaders with clean track records and who have interest of the public at heart.

Mr Migosi said that if they will be elected they will bring more development in the county.

The incumbent Kisii deputy governor Joash Maangi also is seeking the senatorial seat under UDA asked the residents to consider the Kenya Kwanza team to turn out in large number and vote for them come August polls.

“We are a team, we ask you to vote a six piece during the August polls from the president to the member of the county assembly,” said Maangi.

The leaders urged the youths not to be misused by some politicians to cause chaos instead of voting wisely.

Also the leaders said that they will rally behind Deputy president Dr William Ruto and become the fifth president.
