Governor Arati Distances Himself from the Attack of Two County Workers

Kisii county Governor Simba Arati has distanced himself from being involved in the assault on two county staff outside his office on Tuesday.
It is alleged that the two workers Delfant Nyataige and Job Oyugi were attacked by unknown goons.
According to Oyugi said that they attended the meeting and when the meeting ended he was beaten by some individuals who are working with the governor, Nyataige escaped.
He said that he and his colleague Nyataige during the last general election were supporting a candidate from different political party and it was said that they used to abuse the governor on social media.
Speaking with the press the governor said the two were not attacked in his presence.
Arati said the claims by the two workers are part of a calculated scheme by his detractors to bring him down.
While acknowledging meeting the two staff, the governor said he did not order their beating.
The governor said that as a leader he would not have done that, said that those are plans from some individuals who want to taint his name.
“I know such plans, but am not going to step down from putting the county in a level ground for future generation,” he said.
He said the major purpose of the meeting was to find out the ghost workers who are earning salaries without working.

“He is our president and I must work with him, this attacks will not lead us to anywhere instead we should focus on how to bring development in the county,” ‘he said.
He vowed that he will stood firm without fear or favour and bring service to the people also to ensure that the county has made much progress unlike in the past.
The county boss said that such ill motives from some individuals will not deter him from working.
“I must work and ensure I have brought sanity in the county, we cannot have some individuals who are earning without working,” he said.
Mr Arati asked some politicians who are claiming that he is targeting some clans to stop, said that he is a leader of all clans and urge them to concentrate on their role to oversight and making laws.
“Such cheap claims will not bring any development in the county, instead we should focus on how to bring sanity in the county
Oyugi said that they have reported the matter at Kisii police station awaiting for their response.
Kisii OCPD Amos Ambasa said that they have launched the investigation over the matter.
